"Love is when the others person's happiness is more important than your own." - H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

For those of you who live in America, Happy Valentines Day! Tomorrow is the romance holiday and coincidentally my class went over love this week. According to the Greeks there are 4 types of love:

Storge- The love that parents and children have for each other.

Agape- A pure and charitable love. It's unconditional.

Eros- A sexual and romantic love.

Philia-  The love that friends have for each other; brotherly love.

Storge is usually felt for family members but you don't really want it with your spouse. It's a more common and natural empathy. Agape is love that typically friends have for one another. It's seen as the love that God has for man and man has for God. Eros is the traditional form of love that we all think of. It's passionate, beautiful, and is said to lead to truth. Philia is respectful and something you feel for your equal. It is virtuous and friendly.

I hope everyone is enjoying my blog so far and I will be back next week!
